SMN and California State University, Fullerton to Conduct Research Project on Advertising Agencies and Motorsports Marketing


Bloomfield Hills, MI (February 1, 2009) – Sports Management Network, Inc. (SMN)Grham Rahal announced today that the firm will be working with the advertising and communications department at California State University, Fullerton in a unique study on advertising agencies and motorsports marketing. The emphasis of the study will be on how advertising agencies view the various motorsports series, the benefits and potential drawbacks of major motorsports series, and generally how they utilize or would utilize motorsports as a marketing platform for their clients.

The study will commence in February of 2009 and will include 140 students, in seven classes, and two professors. The students will survey and interview multiple agencies within nine major DMAs in the United States. The results of the study will help guide SMN in its efforts within the firm’s sponsorship acquisition, corporate consulting, and activation divisions.
