A partner in the firm and a veteran of the sports and entertainment industry, Brian Roemer leads SMN’s business development and marketing teams. Having joined the firm in 2001, his focus is primarily on new revenue generation for the firm’s team, property and individual clients through commercial sponsorships, endorsements, personal service arrangements, and other income-producing business opportunities. On behalf of SMN’s clients, Brian has secured numerous corporate relationships with blue chip, industry leading companies that range from both primary and associate sponsorships in NASCAR, IndyCar and sports car racing to creative personal service programs and on to endorsements and personal appearances. Brian’s business development efforts also include continuing the growth of SMN through strategic new client acquisition across the firm’s areas of operations including individuals, teams, properties, and corporate consulting.
From a marketing perspective, Brian and the SMN team work to properly position each of its clients in the marketplace to help attract and ultimately maximize commercial opportunities. This includes working closely with SMN’s in-house creative team on client collateral materials, presentations, proposals, websites, and digital and social media assets.
Brian earned valuable industry experience through his prior work with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, Campbell Marketing & Communications (Ford Performance’s marketing agency), as well as his role as Michael Andretti’s personal assistant, where he first met and worked with SMN Founder and CEO, John Caponigro.
Having been introduced to and been around the sports business industry from a very young age, Brian brings a genuine passion to his role at SMN. Born in Germany and raised in suburban Chicago, he is a graduate of the Louisiana State University (LSU) College of Business. Brian and his wife Amy reside in Pleasant Ridge, Michigan with their son, Robert, and daughter, Marlowe.
